Alex's 2nd Day of Preschool (and Bubbles)

Today, Alex was not as enthused about going to preschool. We took a shortcut and went past Sarah's school (mistake #1).

Once at the school he did not want to go in. I assumed he would be thrilled to go back (mistake #2).

He screamed for "Daddy" as they took him inside. I knew he would still be screaming by the time I got to HBC (mistake #3). They called me when I got to church and said about a minute later he stopped crying and was ok. The director said the second day is always the hardest for the kids.

Alex is usually asleep until about 8 or 8:30. He then takes his time getting up watching Blues Clues or something similar until he is ready to eat breakfast. His new schedule is getting up at 7, and leaving at 7:30...he will be adjusting to this new schedule for quite some time.

On a different note, the kids played with bubbles last night and we got a couple of neat pics!

Alex's First Day of Preschool

Alex started preschool today! He just turned three on Saturday and now he is starting preschool. Several kids from HBC go there, so hopefully he will enjoy himself on the first day. Our babysitter's child is also in Alex's class.

Alex walking in with the teacher...we cannot go in with them for 2 weeks. We have to drop him off and then the teacher takes them out of the vehicle to help form their routine...for better or for worse.

Alex's 3rd Birthday Party

On Saturday, August 16, Alex turned three!

We started out the day at home singing to him. (VIDEO)

Then, I made him a Mickey Mouse pancake which he did not eat.

For lunch we took him to McDonalds to eat and play...

Then off to Wal-Mart to pick out a few toys...

That afternoon, we gathered at Vastwood Park in Hancock County to celebrate.

Alex right before blowing out the candle. He received many nice gifts. This year, he was really into opening the presents. Last year, he spent the time of the party underneath the table.

Alex's birthday was actually the day of the party. He starts pre-school tomorrow (Tuesday). I will be posting pics of that soon.

After supper last night, I took Gracie to get her nails painted for the first day of school. Yes, it was my idea. I have no problem with nails being painted. I have issues with earrings and make-up! She loved getting her nails painted. Here are the pics:

Back-To-School (Sort of)

While Gracie is not back to school yet, we have been preparing her to get in her routine. On Tuesday night, she had a back to school picnic where she met her teacher, toured the school, and ate hot dogs. On Wednesday from 9-NOON, she attended "jump start" where she met 1/2 of her classmates and went to her room to get used to the day to day activities. She really enjoyed the end of the day when they ate in the cafeteria.

Here are some pictures of the past couple of days...with more to come next week when Gracie has her first day of school on Tuesday and Alex has his first day of preschool the following Monday. Note: I saw a boy that was in her class wave at her in the hallway last night. I will be talking to him next week.

Alex has this puzzle that is race cars with numbers on them. The cars are NOT in numerical order. We can take a couple of random cars off and Alex can tell us which cars are missing. Watch this video below...he will be three August 16.
